To perform symbol-footprint mapping in PADS format, follow these steps:

  1. Open PADS Designer.

  2. Go to PADS Netlist → Create.

  3. Select File → Import → Symbols

  4. Choose the symbol file (.1) → click OK.

  5. In the Schematic Editor, navigate to the Library Symbol View under the PADS Databook.

  6. Search for your part and double-click it to place the symbol in the schematic.

  7. Right-click on the placed symbol and select Properties.

  8. Copy and paste the footprint name into the PKG_TYPE field.
